Taking a Clean Break on the Road: Truck Stop Showers

Life on the road as a truck driver is unique — and keeping up with personal hygiene can sometimes be a challenge. Whether you’re a veteran behind the wheel or new to trucking, long hours on the highway make finding time and access to showers difficult. That’s where truck stop showers come in, offering a much-needed opportunity to stay clean, refreshed, and ready for the next haul.

Company Terminal

The first stop is to visit our company’s terminal in Granite City. We provide showers and amenities for our drivers passing through.

Where Can I Find Truck Stop Showers?

Sometimes, you won’t always be near our company terminal, but many truck stops offer showers. Truck showers are secure, private rooms that can only be accessed with a provided code or key. Most truck stops typically provide 1-2 towels, soap, and a washcloth. This way, you can relax and enjoy your break from driving.

Don’t forget to bring your essential shower kit with you too, just in case!

How Updated is Your Shower Kit?

To make the most out of your shower experience, pack an essential ‘shower kit’. Here are some things you should include:

Basic hygiene items: Bring your favorite body soap, shampoo, deodorant, and razor if you need to shave.

Towel: Even though most truck stops provide towels, it doesn’t hurt to have a few extra towels to keep your truck and maximize your comfort.

Shower Shoes: Since this is a shared space, flip flops, sandals, or crocs are ideal for keeping your feet clean.

Change of Clothes: Make sure to pack fresh sets of clothes to feel rejuvenated after your shower.

Sign Up for Rewards

Every truck stop shower cost can vary from $10 to $20 depending on locations. Many of the truck stops do have reward programs that offer free shower credit. For instance, at Loves and Pilot Flying J, their reward program includes earning shower credits based on fuel purchases. Make sure to download Love’s.

Don’t Have Access to a Shower

There will be situations where you may find yourself without access to a shower, and having a few essential items in your truck can go a long way:

  • Baby Wipes: We suggest having baby wipes; they are easy to dispose of and work well for a quick clean-up.
  • Deodorant and dry shampoo: These are helpful because they come in travel sizes, which are perfect to use while on the go and when you need a quick refresher.
  • Hand Sanitizer: It never hurts to have more than one hand sanitizer, great for multiple uses and keeping your hands clean before meals.

Doing your research on different truck stop showers can also help with improving your quality of life on the road. Knowing where to find showers and how to prepare ahead of time can improve your driving experience to be more comfortable. So next time you go to a truck stop, take a moment to yourself after your long drive; you’ve earned it!
